Liz Barrett

President and Chief Executive Officer

Liz is a highly regarded industry leader with extensive experience leading business organizations and Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies.

Prior to UroGen, Liz was CEO of Novartis Oncology and a member of the Novartis Executive Committee.

She previously served as Global President of Oncology at Pfizer Inc., where she held numerous leadership positions, including President of Global Innovative Pharma for Europe, President of the Specialty Care Business Unit for North America, and President of United States Oncology.

Prior to Pfizer, Liz held positions at Cephalon Inc., where she was Vice President and General Manager of the Oncology Business Unit, and at Johnson & Johnson. She started her career at Kraft Foods Group, Inc.

Liz holds a master of business administration from Saint Joseph’s University and a bachelor of science from the University of Louisiana.

Peter P. Pfreundschuh

Chief Financial Officer

Peter is a seasoned financial executive with extensive pharmaceutical industry experience.

Peter previously served as the CFO of Sucampo Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he played a critical role in its February 2018 acquisition by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals for $1.2 billion.

Prior to joining Sucampo, Peter was Executive Vice President of Finance and CFO of Immunomedics Inc., a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on development of oncology and immunology therapeutics.

Peter’s previous roles include serving as CFO for CircuLite Inc., a global medical device company that was bought in 2013, as well as leadership positions in finance, commercial operations, and business development at AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. He is currently a board member of Speratus Therapeutics, Inc. and GitBasic LLC. Peter has also previously served as an advisor or board member to Immunomedics Inc., CircuLite Inc., and Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey, in addition to other companies and private organizations.

Peter holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Rutgers University, a master of business administration in finance from Rider University, and completed master’s coursework in strategic marketing for the healthcare industry at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Peter is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of New Jersey, and started his career at Ernst & Young.

Mark P. Schoenberg, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Mark is an internationally recognized expert in the treatment of urothelial cancer and an active investigator and contributor to peer-reviewed literature in urologic oncology.

Mark has held prominent roles at several major universities, including the Bernard Schwartz Distinguished Professor of Urologic Oncology at Johns Hopkins University from 2005 to 2014.

Under the auspices of The American Cancer Society, Mark completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at The James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He served as a resident in surgery and urology at the Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania and received his doctor of medicine from The University of Texas (Houston) and his undergraduate degree from Yale University.

Mark is a founding member of the scientific advisory board of The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.

Stephen Mullennix

Chief Operating Officer

Stephen is a seasoned executive with deep experience in operations and finance for growth enterprises, private equity and corporate finance, and the deployment of breakthrough technologies in highly regulated industries.

Stephen previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations for SolarReserve, LLC, a global power company that commercialized a breakthrough technology allowing for utility-scale generation and storage of solar power.

Prior to SolarReserve, Stephen served as a Managing Director at US Renewables Group, a private equity investment fund with more than $750 million of assets under management; Associate Vice President at AECOM Technology Company; and a co-founder of Ennix Incorporated, a family wastewater business that serves small municipalities.

Stephen has been a leader of teams that have won significant awards, including Commercial Application of the Year from Platts Global Energy Awards 2016, Rising Star Company from Platts Global Energy Awards 2015, Acquisition International Business Excellence 2015 Award, and #1 Fastest Growing Cleantech Company from Deloitte Technology Fast 500 2014.

Jeff Bova

SVP, Commercial

Jeff is an experienced pharmaceutical industry executive with extensive leadership experience across key commercial functional areas, including national sales, marketing, and managed care.

Jeff joined UroGen after 20 years at Bayer Healthcare, where he held multiple senior-level sales leadership positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently at Bayer, Jeff served as Vice President of Oncology Sales, where he led a field sales force of more than 200 in marketing well-known brands such as Xofigo®, Stivarga®, and Nexavar®.

Jeff also previously served as Vice President of Marketing for Bayer’s prostate cancer franchise where he designed, developed, and led the highly successful launch of Xofigo®.

Jeff holds a master’s degree in business administration from Xavier University and a bachelor of science in finance and marketing from the University of Cincinnati.

Woody Bryan, Ph.D.

SVP, Business Development

Woody is a highly regarded business development professional with extensive connections in the healthcare industry.

He was previously Senior Vice President (SVP) of Business Development at Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he spearheaded the business development effort for its February 2018 acquisition by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals for $1.2 billion. He also led the evaluation of several in-licensing opportunities and acquisition of multiple assets while in this role.

Prior to joining Sucampo, Woody’s positions included SVP of Business Development at Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., VP of Business Development, Licensing at Supernus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and VP of Business Development, Licensing and Project Management at Shire Laboratories, Inc. (a division of Shire Pharmaceuticals Group).

Woody is currently a board member of Afecta Pharmaceuticals and a board member and past chairman of Clemson University’s Arthur M. Spiro Institute of Entrepreneurial Leadership.

Woody holds a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina, an executive management certificate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler School of Business, and a bachelor of science in zoology from Clemson University.

Marina Konorty, Ph.D.

SVP, R&D; Head of Israel Operations

Marina is a highly specialized leader in pivotal areas of our company, having joined UroGen as Chief Chemist in 2011.

In her role as Chief Chemist, Marina was responsible for development of the RTGelTM reverse-thermal hydrogel technology platform, including optimization of its delivery properties and verifying its suitability as a drug carrier in humans.

In her current role, Marina heads development of the manufacturing processes and specifications associated with RTGel-formulated drug products for the UroGen clinical development pipeline.

Prior to UroGen, Marina served as Project Manager at TransPharma Medical, a medical device and drug delivery company.

A published author with multiple patents, Marina holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science and a master of science and bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the Technion Institute of Technology.

Jim Ottinger, R.Ph.

SVP, Regulatory Affairs

Jim is a lifelong pharmaceutical industry executive with more than 30 years of strategic regulatory experience, having supported the successful development, approval, and marketing of a number of new drugs throughout his career.

Prior to joining UroGen, Jim served as Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Ltd., where he was responsible for global regulatory oversight of Teva’s portfolio of branded, generic, and over-the-counter products.

Previously, Jim was Vice President of Worldwide Regulatory Affairs of Cephalon, Inc. (acquired by Teva). Earlier in his career, Jim held a variety of senior regulatory positions with Premier Research Group Limited, and regulatory positions of increasing responsibility at Wyeth Research (acquired by Pfizer, Inc.).

Jim holds a bachelor of science in pharmacy from the Temple University School of Pharmacy and is a registered pharmacist in the State of Pennsylvania.

Elyse Seltzer, M.D.

SVP, Clinical Development

Elyse is an experienced physician who has made a career of clinical development in the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to joining UroGen, Elyse served as Chief Medical Officer of Nabriva Therapeutics, where she was a key member of the management team that took the company public and was responsible for clinical and regulatory strategy and implementation of the company’s clinical development programs.

Elyse joined Nabriva from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where she was Vice President of Global Clinical Sciences and Operations. Prior to joining GSK, she served as Chief Medical Officer at Tengion, a regenerative medicine company, where she established and built the company’s clinical organization.

Elyse previously held senior clinical development roles at Centocor and Vicuron, and she began her industry career at SmithKline Beecham (now GSK).

Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Seltzer was a practicing physician in the area of infectious diseases. She holds a doctor of medicine from the New York University School of Medicine; she completed her internal medicine training at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center and infectious diseases training at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Arie Belldegrun, M.D.

FACS Chairman

Dr. Belldegrun is the Chairman of UroGen Pharma. He has built a distinguished career as a visionary surgeon, scientist, and life sciences entrepreneur.

Dr. Belldegrun founded Kite Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development of innovative cancer immunotherapies, where he served as Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer until the acquisition of Kite by Gilead Sciences in October 2017. He remains Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Fosun Kite, a joint venture formed between Fosun Pharma and Kite, a Gilead company, for the development of cell therapy in China.

Dr. Belldegrun has had a distinguished tenure in the life sciences, having been closely involved with the founding and advancement of several successful biopharmaceutical companies, including Cougar Biotechnology and Agensys. Abiraterone, developed by Cougar, is a mainstay of therapy for patients with metastatic prostate cancer.

Dr. Belldegrun most recently co-founded Allogene Therapeutics, a biotechnology company with a mission to catalyze the next revolution in cancer treatment through the development of allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapy directed at blood cancers and solid tumors. He serves as Executive Chairman of Allogene as well as Two River Group, is a Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of Vida Ventures, and previously served as a Board Member of Cell Design Labs until its acquisition by Gilead in December 2017.

Dr. Belldegrun is a professor of urology, holds the Roy and Carol Doumani Chair in Urologic Oncology, and is Director of the UCLA Institute of Urologic Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is currently a member of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy Strategic Advisory Group.

Prior to joining UCLA, Dr. Belldegrun served as a research fellow in surgical oncology and immunotherapy under Dr. Steven A. Rosenberg at the National Cancer Institute/NIH. He completed his doctor of medicine at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, his post-graduate studies in immunology at the Weizmann Institute of Science, and his residency in urologic surgery at Harvard Medical School. He has authored several books in oncology and more than 500 scientific and medical papers related to urological cancers, immunotherapy, gene therapy, and cancer vaccines. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons.

Cynthia Butitta

Board Member

Ms. Butitta is a seasoned financial and operational executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience in both the biotechnology and high-technology industries. She has served as a director for UroGen since November 2017.

Most recently, Ms. Butitta served as Chief Operating Officer of Kite Pharma, where she played an instrumental role in the acquisition of Kite Pharma by Gilead Sciences for approximately $11.9 billion in cash. She also served as Kite Pharma’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2014 to 2016. During her tenure at Kite, Ms. Butitta was responsible for securing more than $1 billion in equity financing and oversaw the rapid growth of the organization.

Prior to joining Kite, Ms. Butitta served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NextWave Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which was acquired in 2012 by Pfizer, Inc. for $700 million.

Previously, Ms. Butitta held positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Telik Inc., a public biotechnology company focused on the development of small molecule drugs for the treatment of cancer, prior to its acquisition by MabVax Therapeutics, Inc.

Ms. Butitta was also Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Connetics, Inc., a public biotechnology company.

Ms. Butitta received a bachelor of science degree with honors in business and accounting from Edgewood College in Madison, WI, and a master of business administration in finance from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Fred E. Cohen, M.D.

Board Member

Dr. Cohen is a former academic clinician with many years of experience advising pharmaceutical and life sciences companies. Dr. Cohen has served as a director for UroGen since May 2017.

Dr. Cohen is a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital, where he served for more than 15 years as a partner and founder of TPG Biotech, a life science-focused venture capital fund.

For more than two decades throughout his career, Dr. Cohen has been affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco, where he has held various clinical positions, including as a research scientist, an internist for hospitalized patients, a consulting endocrinologist, and the Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Dr. Cohen earned a doctor of philosophy in molecular biophysics on a Rhodes Scholarship from Oxford University, a doctor of medicine from Stanford University, and a bachelor of science in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University.

Dr. Cohen currently serves on the board of directors of several other biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Kate Falberg

Board Member

Ms. Falberg is a veteran business executive who has served as a board member for a number of highly successful companies. Ms. Falberg has served as a director for UroGen since April 2017.

Throughout her career, Ms. Falberg has held several CFO and Head of Strategy and Corporate Development roles in the technology and biotechnology industries, including for Applied Magnetics, Amgen, and, most recently, Jazz Pharmaceuticals.

Ms. Falberg currently sits on the board of directors of several pharmaceutical and technology companies: Aimmune Therapeutics, aTyr Pharma, Axovant Sciences, BioMarin Pharmaceutical, and The Trade Desk. She has also formerly served on multiple other boards, including Medivation and Halozyme Therapeutics.

Ms. Falberg holds a bachelor of arts and a master of business administration from UCLA and is a CPA (inactive) and a UCLA-certified director.

Stuart Holden, M.D.

Board Member

Dr. Holden has a long and decorated career as a practicing urologist, research pioneer in prostate and urologic cancers, and an academic. He has served as a director for UroGen since December 2015.

Dr. Holden has been the Chairman of ProQuest Investments’ Scientific Advisory Board since its founding.

Since 2014, Dr. Holden has held a number of positions within the Department of Urology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, including Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Urology, Spielberg Family Chair in Urologic Oncology, and Associate Director of the UCLA Institute of Urologic Oncology.

Dr. Holden has worked on the front lines of prostate cancer for more than 36 years and has pioneered new treatments for urologic cancers. Dr. Holden’s dedication to patient care resulted in him being named Medical Director of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the world’s largest funding organization of prostate cancer research; he has held this position since the foundation’s inception in 1993.

Dr. Holden previously held a position as the director of the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and was the first holder of the Warschaw, Robertson, Law Families Chair in Prostate Cancer.

Dr. Holden was also a founding partner of Tower Urology in Los Angeles.

Dr. Holden completed his medical degree and received his surgical training at Weill Cornell Medical College and the New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical College. He completed his urology residency at Emory University School of Medicine and fellowships in urology and developmental genetics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was also awarded a clinical fellowship from the American Cancer Society and received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Ran Nussbaum

Board Member

Mr. Nussbaum is a successful entrepreneur and executive with deep expertise in the business of the pharmaceutical industry. His work revolves around constant and active involvement in companies, providing them with strategic and business development oversight.

Mr. Nussbaum is a managing partner and co-founder of Pontifax, a firm that runs 6 different funds and more than 75 portfolio companies around the globe. The group has established more than 19 startups since it was incorporated in 2005.

In the past, Mr. Nussbaum served on the board of directors for Kite Pharma (sold to Gilead) and cCEM Therapeutics (sold to Merck). He has also chaired Ocon Medical, NasVax Therapeutics, Spearhead Ltd., and Biomedix Ltd.

Currently Mr. Nussbaum sits on the board of many of Pontifax’s portfolio companies, including: Eloxx (ELOX), UroGen (URGN), ArQule (ARQL), Prevail (PRVL) and Lutris. He also serves as Keros Therapeutics’ chairman of the board.

Shawn C. Tomasello

Board Member

Ms. Tomasello brings more than 30 years of experience in the life sciences industry to her role as a director of UroGen.

Most recently, Ms. Tomasello served as Chief Commercial Officer of Kite Pharma (subsequently Kite, a Gilead Company), where she led the commercialization of YescartaTM (axicabtagene ciloleucel), the first approved chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T therapy for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Prior to joining Kite, Ms. Tomasello served as Chief Commercial Officer at Pharmacyclics, Inc., during which time the brand Imbruvica® (ibrutinib) was awarded the prestigious Prix Galien USA Award 2015 for Best Pharmaceutical Agent.

Previously, Ms. Tomasello held senior leadership positions at Celgene Corporation, including President of the Americas, Hematology and Oncology, in which she oversaw more than $4 billion in product revenues. During her tenure at Celgene, Ms. Tomasello was responsible for all aspects of commercial sales and marketing for five brands encompassing 11 indications. One of these brands, Revlimid® (lenalidomide), was awarded the Prix Galien USA 2008 Award for Special Therapeutic Development.

Prior to this, Ms. Tomasello was National Director of Hematology for Rituxan® (rituximab) at Genentech, representing the most significant portion of the company’s product revenue during her tenure.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Tomasello held positions at Pfizer Laboratories, Miles Pharmaceuticals, and Proctor & Gamble.

Ms. Tomasello currently serves on the boards of directors of Centrexion Therapeutics, Oxford BioTherapeutics, and Diplomat Specialty.

Ms. Tomasello holds a master of business administration from Murray State University and a bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Cincinnati.
